Excuse Us While We Travel Cross-Country

We've had quite a few folks asking us where the heck our latest Marriage Honestly podcast episode is. Well... here's the story.

This year (2018) we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Like most couples, we thought long and hard about how to really commemorate such a milestone. Should we take a cruise? Take an extended vacation in the Hamptons (which we absolutely love)? Revisit our favorite site at the Delaware shore? So many choices - and all of them good.

But here's the deal: our son, Christian, moved to California five years ago and we still haven't visited there. So, we wondered, why not combine our anniversary, a visit to our son and daughter-in-law Keri, and something we've always wanted to do - a leisurely trip across country? Talk about a triple-header! It's the ultimate plan.

So... Tom and I are currently in the process of fulfilling a decades-long dream: planning a 30-day cross-country trip to California and back. We're avid RVers and are currently shopping for just the right vehicle.

To say "it's a process" is a serious understatement. But, we think it's a process others might gain inspiration from. So, we're documenting our journey (emotional and geographical) on one of those free Google sites we've titled Goin' Coastal.

We created Goin' Coastal not only as a cyber-scrapbook of memories for ourselves, but also as an easy way to keep our friends and family updated on our antics. Its layout is pretty simple. You can read our progress in finding and buying the "perfect" RV on The Camper page. To learn about the route we'll be taking and the stops we'll be making along the way, visit The Crossing page. And, to leave us a message, use our shabby but effective comments system.

We're not sure what (or who!) we'll run into on our travels. If you have a suggestion for things to see, please let us know. If you're a friend or family member living along our route, give us a shout. We'd love to stop for a catch-up.

We're thankful and blessed to have the health and means to make this journey. And, we're grateful to all of you who will be with us in spirit as we experience so many wonderful new and exciting things.
